SYNOPSIS

Imagine a time when the gods turn a blind eye to the agony of men, when the last of the hellions roam the plains and evil stirs beyond the edges of the map. A time when cities burn, and in their ashes, empires rise.
Alexander, Macedonia’s sixteen-year-old heir, is on the brink of discovering his fated role in conquering the known world but finds himself drawn to newcomer Katerina, who must navigate the dark secrets of court life while hiding her own mission: kill the Queen. But Kat’s first love, Jacob, will go to unthinkable lengths to win her, even if it means competing for her heart with Hephaestion, a murderer sheltered by the prince. And far across the sea, Zofia, a Persian princess and Alexander’s unmet fiancĂ©e, wants to alter her destiny by seeking the famed and deadly Spirit Eaters.
Weaving fantasy with the salacious and fascinating details of real history, New York Times bestselling author Eleanor Herman reimagines the greatest emperor the world has ever known: Alexander the Great, in the first book of the Blood of Gods and Royals series.

REVIEW

Legacy Of Kings came up fully to my expectations. The story is very engulfing. I loved all the "magic" secrets that this story is full of. And the characters were really enjoyable, they were all kick-ass and just amazing. They were never scared of anything and accepted every challenge that their fate was throwing at them. Even Katerina fought too in a war which was between men. The most enjoyable thing was that the story was full of twists. This novel was no doubt very captivating.
Katerina has to kill Queen Olympias, Queen Olympias wants to become invincible, Alexander has to save Macedonia by defeating the Aesrian lords, and Zofia is struggling to change her fate. There were so many POVs! Seriously!! I felt irritated too sometimes but neve mind. Unfortunately all the characters are living the most terrible days of their life. Alexander needs to get rid of Aesrian lords as his father, King Philip, is not with him. Katerina needs to kill Queen Olympias to take revenge for her mother. As she is solving the puzzle bit by bit, she discovers a beautiful box. But Queen Olympias has hidden it. Now all the answers lie in that one box. You must be thinking that what the hell is in that box that the box was hidden, well it is the main question. You'll have to read the book to find out.
If I started explaing the book more, then it'd be like giving you spoilers. This story is very intriguing and will give you shocks. Plus the writing is outstanding. As the secrets are unravelled, you will find yourself clutching the book tightly as you discover the truth behind every secret.
It is a dangerously amazing story. There is a really big twist in the novel that's just outrageous. This story is the perfect example of a book hangover. It's still stuck in my head. This novel is recommended to YA historical fiction readers.
Happy Reading! <3
