Kitty Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold is the thrilling first installment in a new series of adventure mystery stories that are one part travel, one part history and five parts adventure. This first book of the Kitty Hawk Flying Detective Agency Series introduces Kitty Hawk, an intrepid teenage pilot with her own De Havilland Beaver seaplane and a nose for mystery and intrigue. A cross between Amelia Earhart, Nancy Drew and Pippi Longstocking, Kitty is a quirky young heroine with boundless curiosity and a knack for getting herself into all kinds of precarious situations.
After leaving her home in the western Canadian fishing village of Tofino to spend the summer in Alaska studying humpback whales Kitty finds herself caught up in an unforgettable adventure involving stolen gold, devious criminals, ghostly shipwrecks, and bone-chilling curses. Kitty's adventure begins with the lingering mystery of a sunken ship called the Clara Nevada and as the plot continues to unfold this spirited story will have armchair explorers and amateur detectives alike anxiously following every twist and turn as they are swept along through the history of the Klondike Gold Rush to a suspenseful final climatic chase across the rugged terrain of Canada's Yukon, the harsh land made famous in the stories and poems of such writers as Jack London, Robert Service and Pierre Berton. It is a riveting tale that brings to glorious life the landscape and history of Alaska's inside passage and Canada's Yukon, as Kitty is caught up in an epic mystery set against the backdrop of the scenery of the Klondike Gold Rush.

REVIEW

Kitty Hawk And The Curse Of The Yukon Gold is the first book in The Kitty Hawk Flying Detective Agency series by Iain Reading. The storyline was amazing! The writing style of the author is just amazing. This series has a website too, www.kittyhawkworld.com, where you can know more about this series! Amazing right?
Kitty Hawk is a very mature character despite of her young age. She is a very smart, intelligent and strong girl. Without any kind of exaggeration, to be honest, my expressions while reading were "OH MY GOD!", "You've gotta be kidding me!", "So sad!", because the book is filled with laughter, emotional, sad and angry scenes. This author writes goodbyes badly because every time, Kitty said goodbye to 'The Charlie Gang', you won't believe I was literally in tears.
I really wanted some kind of relationship in between Charlie and Kitty! Because despite the fact that he had kidnapped her, I loved them both... Kitty gave loads of hope to Charlie and his gang for getting the gold back from the crazy Jack. Not only this, she also showed her reckless side to Charlie with her smart brain and flying skills.
And the cliffhangers... the book is filled with those!! The part where Eddie came out to be Edward was the part where I was like "Seriously!". The book is filled with heart aching goodbyes... *sobs*
Iain has written an out of this world ending. Thank God the book didnt ended with a cliffhanger but guess what? The book has a prologue from the book 3 of this series, due to which I am yearning to read the 2nd book. The last pages was the part, where I felt that I am missing Charlie and his brothers more than Kitty... *sniffs*
So in short, this book is filled with laughter, tears, energy bars and brotherhood which is the 'Thing' I loved about this book. This book completely left me in awe! I really WANT the book 2!! Have you read Kitty Hawk And The Curse Of The Yukon Gold? What was your favourite part? Answer me in the comments!
Happy Reading! <3
