SYNOPSIS

'Family curses don't exist. Sure, some families seem to suffer more pain than others, but a curse? An actual curse? I don't think so.'

A family tragedy was the catalyst for Ian Perkins to return to the isolated cottage with his wife and young son. But now they are back, it seems yet more grief might befall the family.

There is still time to act, but that means Ian must face the uncomfortable truth about his past. And in doing so, he must uncover the truth behind the supposed family curse.

REVIEW

This book revolves around Ian Perkins & his family. There is a family curse that has been ruining the lives of Perkins' Family since forever. When Ian movies with his son, Harry & wife, Rachel, they start to suffer from the curse.
This book was one hella depressing read. I didn't expected it to be so deep. The characters are very deep-ish. Ian is a really confusing character. His wife Rachel is an extremely patient person,  she remained with her husband through thick & thin. His son Harry was a really adorable addition to the novel. Talking about the plot, it was confusing but really cinematic. The writing quality of the author was pretty great. The novel is really slow but in the end it kinda starts to become fast. The way the tragedies has been described is pretty awesome.
Overall, it is a nice rainy day read. Won't really recommend to people who have suffered great loss or are depressed. A well written read with chill-spining scenes.
