When you set out for revenge, dig two graves
Growing up in the sleepy English seaside town of Brynston, the fearless five – Ella, Max, Corey, Fallon and Zane – were always inseparable. Living up to their nickname, they were the adventurous, rowdy kids who lived for ghost stories and exploring the nearby islands off the coast. But when Max’s beloved older sister Jessica is killed, the friendship seems to die with her.
Now years later, only Max and Ella are in touch; still best friends and a couple since they were thirteen. Their lives are so intertwined Max’s dad even sponsors Ella’s training for the Commonwealth Games. But Ella is hiding things. Like why she hates going to Max’s house for Sunday dinner, and flinches whenever his family are near. Or the real reason she’s afraid to take their relationship to the next level.
OMG! What did I just read? Woah! The f***! Ahhh! This story revolves around 5 kids & a baby! yaasss a baby too! Ella is an extremely athletic girl & has a bright future ahead but there are secrets carved permanently in her heart & she's going to take them till her grave because it will destroy one person she loves the most - Max. Max is a straight A*s student who wants to be a policeman but his father doesn't want him too. He gets suspicious when he learns that Ella is genophobic. He'll do anything to find out the mystery behind her phobia. Corey is the nerd who loves Harry Potter & is always collecting HP merchandise. His life takes a turn when he meets his past crush, Fallon. Fallon is the daughter of the road witch Rosie, who has like animal organs in her house! Yeah I know gross! Let's talk about the plot first, I won't lie during the first 180 pages I was like duh this book ain't my thing probably gonna DNF it! But OMG after 200 pages this book was the bomb! I mean this book left me in an emotional wreck! It was 3 AM last night when I finished it, I legit wanted to cry out loud. The characters were extremely relatable & amazing! Each character had an important role. I loved Ella most! She's a true inspiration for those girls who have been sexually abused but keep their mouth shut. It's all about bravery, friendship, & screaming for your right.
Overall, I highly recommend this novel to people in a bad emotional mess & also to every teen out there! Your voice needs to be heard! :)
Happy Reading! <3
