SYNOPSIS

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

REVIEW

So... the first half of the book is slow. But still we get to know about every character in a very detailed way. Cassandra picks up the story after like 100 pages and the story starts becoming exciting. If you haven't read this book then do read it because of all the twists.
The whole story is really easy to understand because they are so many amazing stories behind every mystery. I wanted to read more from Jace's POV. There's also this slow romance that'll just melt you. I will always support that couple.
Simon, the nerdy guy with lashes that a girl will die to have them. Isabelle and her hotness and bravery. Jace whose sarcasm is just.... *swoons*. Alec and his gayness. Clary and her strong will. Every character is diverse. I loved the dialogues of Jace and they were literally making me crazy. The movie is seriously nothing like the book and I hated it. I hope Shadowhunters does justice with this series. This book is very powerful with so many action and suspense filled scenes that'll make you read till the end.
This book is recomended for people who love diverse characters in books with twists and turns. I'm surely gonna read the next book.
Happy Reading!
