 SYNOPSIS

Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate story of the intense and almost demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine's father. After Mr Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine's brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. He proceeds to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries. The action of the story is chaotic and unremittingly violent, but the accomplished handling of a complex structure, the evocative descriptions of the lonely moorland setting and the poetic grandeur of vision combine to make this unique novel a masterpiece of English literature.

 REVIEW

I was longing from so many days for a classic romance. So, I couldnt control myself when i found Wuthering Heights at the library. Emily Brontë is a famous author so I really wanted to read her novel. I found this book full of sorrows, but still enjoyable.
So... It has all the elements of a good novel. There are some shocking scenes that Emily has created which will make you craving for more till the end. The biggest shock was Catherine's death, actually very big shock. Emily has written the story in such a way that I still can't get it out of my mind. Catherine is a little rude and wildly in love with Heathcliff. But maybe it was written in the stars that they won't be ever together. Heathcliff's return brought loads of stress in Catherine's life which ultimately led to her death. Catherine's character was really amazing. The story is filled with ups and downs. The revenge of Heathcliff by marrying Isabella, it is all very difficult to absorb. If just Catherine hadn't said that dialogue that night..... Another amazing character was Catherine's daughter, Cathy or Catherine. She is just so adorable! Hindley's son was a total jerk and little Cathy changed him and they fell in love. Emily has written the story with full of emotions. Living in a disturbed family is very hard where everyone is either screaming or throwing things.
Wuthering Heights is a really really sad love story. I recommend this novel to all the classic novel lovers. Alas! It's Emily's first and last novel!
Happy Reading! <3
