SYNOPSIS

Charlie is a freshman.

And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it.

Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mix tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But he can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a deeply affecting coming-of-age story that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

REVIEW

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is a stand-alone novel by the New York Times bestselling author, Stephen Chbosky. I have heard loads about this book, and it's rating on Goodreads was pretty good too! So, I was really excited to start this novel! The book was insane! I was immediately sucked in to the story!
TPoBaW is outstanding. It is filled with so many thought provoking scenes. There wasn't any one boring scene and I couldn't put the book down.
I loved the protagonist Charlie! He is such a sensitive and caring character. We see how he is slowly growing up with time, with the help of Sam and Patrick. Sam and Patrick helped Charlie when he needed it the most.
I felt like I was Charlie while I was reading. The writing style of the author is far too incredible. One can relate to this book so very much beacuse there are several events that happen in a normal teenager's life. All the debacles that a teenage go through and stuff. But I hated the fact that... I don't know why everyone cries so much in this book. Ughhh I hate teary books, but still it was amazing and it's ending was superb. After finishing the book, I wanted to read more about Charlie's life.
Okay, so the whole book was speechless! It was filled with suspense and Stephen Chbosky has no doubt created an awesome protagonist. Even though this book was written in 1999, one can still relate to it, even in this era.
One complaint I have is that the 'Dear Friend' was kept anonymous until the end. It was actually never revealed who he/she was. But its not a big problem. It just keeps your interest growing up till the end.
Conclusively, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is amazing and incredible with loads of lessons. You should definitely give it a try. This book will make your fears go away! A lot of you must have read the book so don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments!
Happy Reading! <3
