REVIEW
This series is just so famous that I don't need to elaborate much. It's The Vampire Diaries! I have heard loads about this series, so I thought of starting it.
To be honest, I think the drama adaptation of TVD is very different from the books. If you have read the first book and watched the first episode of TVD, you must know the difference. I am totally fangirling these books! The protagonist is Elena.... She is the typical cunning I-Want-Every-Boy type of girl but this time she has truly fallen for someone. And that someone is a vampire. Elena makes Stefan remember of the girl he used to love in the 15th century, I guess (pretty old guy!). Stefan was and is still the gentlemanly guy, who is a 'sucker for helping maidens', which clearly annoys Elena as Caroline is taking full advantage of Stefan's behaviour. The main point of the book is 'Get rid of Damon'. So now who's Damon? Why hate him? Damon is Stefan's brother, who doesn't like to show his brotherly emotions in front of Stefan and acts cruel plus he's extra powerful... Obviously he drinks human blood a lot!!
Damon's dialogues are just like..... Out of this world.. Damon is pure devil.. I think Ian Somerhalder is the perfect definition of Damon so he has been selected for the role correct. There are loads of ups and downs in Elena's relationship with Stefan. Damon possesses Elena sometimes and it literally works.. Stefan according to me is too teenish in a way. Damon and Elena will work pretty well too... Please... Damon is as good for Elena as much as Stefan.
I hated Elena in the beginning very much. Her obsession of playing with guys sucks. Bonnie is creepy too with psychic powers... Meredith is the mysterious girl in the best friends trio.. No one knows about Stefan's reality except Elena and Damon.
L.J. Smith ends the book with bang-your-head-on-the-wall cliffhanger. The cliffhanger sucks. The cliffhanger is so heart aching, you will claw your eyes out and rush to the store for volume 2.
Overall, Amazing book! Loved it. This volume will make you pull an all-nighter. Have you read The Awakening and The Struggle? What was your favourite part? Answer me in the comments.
