Stolen from her charmed life Bennua begins to learn the truth of what lies beyond the palace walls and the suffering that plagues Sahrahn’s people. REVIEW
I am becoming a huge fan of this author, as she is becoming amazing book by book. This story is filled with so much suspense...
Bennua has always shown her fake girly side at her father's castle. But, in reality, she just wants freedom, and doesn't want to follow the so called wrong rules of her parents. Her whole life changes, when she meets the Prince Raider... she transforms into a strong and fierce girl. But the real twist arrives with the arrival of Quasim. She has to kill him to take revenge, as he has killed her father and her half brother, and also want to conquer Haya-Maa.
I don't know why, but when I was reading, the first movie that came up in my mind was 300: Rise of an empire. This book has fictional Arabic characters, culture and places (Although the author is Christian!!). It's a really depressing problem when you are never understood by your family members and has to follow their every wrong order. This is the same problem, Bennua is facing. The relationship between Bennua and Zahid (Prince Raider) was expected by me from the part when they met for the first time. Zahid trains Bennua and teaches her fighting that worked out for her in the future.
I really loved the storyline. Bennua did an amazing job by taking a big step of attacking Quasim, although it was impossible. Bennua was very lucky, that Zahid saved her by bargaining her with her father, and took her to Ashana. Toshana was my another favourite character, as she was with Bennua through thick and thin. I still can't understand, that, was Toshana sent by the Alshams for Bennua's help, as Toshana transforms into a Phoenix leaving some ashes. The ending was exactly what I wanted it to be!!
I am giving the book 4.3/5. I really loved the plot, but there were some parts where Bennua became really bothersome, irritating me a lot. This is my opinion, so don't forget to share yours here!! I think a lot of people will love this novel, because it's an Arabic story, it's something new. I am really looking forward to more of Megan Linski's books.
Happy Reading! <3
