The Mysterious Disappearance Of Kurt Kramer (Book 1) by Mike Wells

PLOT:
The protagonist is Kurt Kramer, a really intelligent boy. He has a brother, Mitch, and two best friends, Lance and Rachel who is also in love with Kurt. Kurt is planing to join MIT. Kurt with his younger brother and best friends celebrates his 16th birthday, while his parents are sleeping. Actually they all are in Aruba for vacation. Suddenly they all, except Rachel see a bright red shining object falling from the sky. As Kurt is a really curious boy, he decides to find the object. Rachel stops them as it late at night. They don't listen and Rachel joins them sad. After lots of searching they find the object. They become curious, as the object is strange, so Kurt touches the red trigger on the object. The whole thing starts to rearrange. As Mitch has been drinking all the way, he accidentally pushes Kurt and he falls towards the object and the object sucks him in.
Now tensed, they return to the house and inform Kurt's father, Dr.Kramer. He gets serious and calls his two friends who are scientists, Roger and Art. Then one day Kurt communicates them through TV and then laptop. This means he alive but with no physical body. No one has ever seen a thing like this...
Can Kurt come back? Where is he? Inside the object or at some other dimension?

MY OPINION:
This story is really absorbing. It absorbs inside your mind, never leaving until you finish. Reading about Rachel's love for Kurt and the strange object, its all really awesome. Wells has written a page turning book. Cliffhanger ending...
