SYNOPSIS

Hell hath no fury like a fangirl scorned…
When Daisy Morris finds out she’s spending the summer with her dad, bodyguard for Seconds to Juliet—the hottest boy band around—she knows it couldn't be more perfect. But not because she’s a fan. Oh, no. Because ever since front man Trevin Jacobs completely humiliated her by standing her up for homecoming, Daisy is out for a little revenge. Yup, Trevin Jacobs is goin' down...
When one of his bandmates bets Trevin he can't make Daisy—the gorgeous but surprisingly ice-cold daughter of their bodyguard—fall in love with him, it’s a bet he can’t resist. Sure, Daisy won’t give him the time of day for reasons he can't understand, and her dad’s hell-bent against his little girl spending time with a superstar. But the terms are set, and Trevin is determined to make Daisy fall…hard.
But every front man should know never to trust a girl with a pretty face…
This Entangled Teen Crush book contains adult language, sexual situations, and seriously hot boys. It may cause swoony daydreams involving a certain super-cute front man.

REVIEW

Daisy And The Front Man is the third book in the Backstage Pass series. This book is just so amazing, it will seriously make you pull an all-nighter! I was completely in love with with the story that Rebekah L. Purdy has created.
The starting of Daisy And The Front Man will get you hooked. I myself was hooked from the very first page. The story moves with a slow pace, with full of suspense.
And as mentioned at the end of the synopsis that this book has swoon-worthy GUYS. Daisy And The Front Man actually have those swoon-worthy GUYS and those moments *sighs*! Daisy And The Front Man basically revolves around two main people, Daisy Morris And Trevin Jacobs. Daisy has won a recycling competition and as a prize, the Front Man of the most-amazing-swoon-worthy band, Seconds to Juliet, Trevin will take her to homecoming dance, but at the last moment, Daisy receives the message that he can't come due to VMAs, and so the revenge starts. Daisy and Trevin's relationship was very ridiculous. I loved the duo. Oh and there were those moments between Trevin and Daisy that'll make you blush.
Trevin has made a bet with his bandmate, Ryder, that he'll make Daisy fall for him hard while Daisy's toiling brain is thinking of every possible way of humiliating Trevin in public just like he did to her that night. Both fall in love while playing the 'game' with each other! Trevin, the handsome and good guy that any girl would love to be with, Daisy obviously falls for him. This is a very unique and interesting read about a complicated relationship. Fangirling S2J!
The last pages were very interesting and made the book simply unputdownable. The story has loads of twists and turns and I was seriously.... in love with them both. As we get know Trevin's POV too, so we get to know his feelings for Daisy too. The ending is just so perfect and you need to read this book as soon as it releases.
Overall, Daisy And The Front Man is an excellent third book in this series! The romance is swoon-worthy, the plot is insane, and Trevin is speechless. Thanks to Entangled Crush for accepting my request to review this book - this book is an addicting read and I can't wait to read book 4. Go pre-order this book on Amazon or BarnesandNobles! This book is going to get released soon and I seriously am yearning to read the fourth book.

The Awakening & The Struggle by L.J. Smith

ISBN-13978-1-444-90071-2
Pages: 389
Genre: Romance, Horror
Publisher: Hachette Children's Books
Source: Bought

SYNOPSIS

Elena: the golden girl, the leader, the one who can have any boy she wants.
Collected here in one volume for the first time, volumes one and two of The Vampire Diaries, the tale of two vampire brothers and the beautiful girl torn between them.

Stefan: brooding and mysterious, he seems to be the only one who can resist Elena, even as he struggles to protect her from the horrors that haunt his past.
Damon: sexy, dangerous, and driven by an urge for revenge against Stefan, the brother who betrayed him. Determined to have Elena, he'd kill to possess her.

REVIEW

This series is just so famous that I don't need to elaborate much. It's The Vampire Diaries! I have heard loads about this series, so I thought of starting it.
To be honest, I think the drama adaptation of TVD is very different from the books. If you have read the first book and watched the first episode of TVD, you must know the difference. I am totally fangirling these books! The protagonist is Elena.... She is the typical cunning I-Want-Every-Boy type of girl but this time she has truly fallen for someone. And that someone is a vampire. Elena makes Stefan remember of the girl he used to love in the 15th century, I guess (pretty old guy!). Stefan was and is still the gentlemanly guy, who is a 'sucker for helping maidens', which clearly annoys Elena as Caroline is taking full advantage of Stefan's behaviour. The main point of the book is 'Get rid of Damon'. So now who's Damon? Why hate him? Damon is Stefan's brother, who doesn't like to show his brotherly emotions in front of Stefan and acts cruel plus he's extra powerful... Obviously he drinks human blood a lot!!
Damon's dialogues are just like..... Out of this world.. Damon is pure devil.. I think Ian Somerhalder is the perfect definition of Damon so he has been selected for the role correct. There are loads of ups and downs in Elena's relationship with Stefan. Damon possesses Elena sometimes and it literally works.. Stefan according to me is too teenish in a way. Damon and Elena will work pretty well too... Please... Damon is as good for Elena as much as Stefan.
I hated Elena in the beginning very much. Her obsession of playing with guys sucks. Bonnie is creepy too with psychic powers... Meredith is the mysterious girl in the best friends trio.. No one knows about Stefan's reality except Elena and Damon.
L.J. Smith ends the book with bang-your-head-on-the-wall cliffhanger. The cliffhanger sucks. The cliffhanger is so heart aching, you will claw your eyes out and rush to the store for volume 2.
Overall, Amazing book! Loved it. This volume will make you pull an all-nighter. Have you read The Awakening and The Struggle? What was your favourite part? Answer me in the comments.

Author Chat with Laney McMann

Today, we have author Laney McMann on our blog. She is the author of The Fire Born Trilogy. As a big fan of Layla and Max I am very excited for the final book. Know more about Laney McMann in this interview!

Q: Since how long have you been writing?
A: I've been writing since I was 9 years old. I started out writing poetry. I still write it.

Q: 3 words that describe you?
A: Imaginative, determined, introverted.

Q: What does writing mean to you?
A: It's an important part of who I am.

Q: How did the idea of Fire Born trilogy came to you?
A: The idea came like all my ideas come—out of nowhere. But it was inspired by two of my best friends.

Q: Tell us a little about the Fire Born trilogy?
A: The series is about love, loss, friendship, and embracing who we are born to be. It's my take on an Irish myth.

Q: Any project in the pipeline?
A: I have several projects in the pipeline. The first book in my Primordial Principles series will release this fall (2015). The title is CRYSTALLUM. It is YA urban fantasy/paranormal. The blurb and cover will release in July.

Q: What genres do you focus on?
A: Mainly fantasy and paranormal.

Q: Your biggest fear?
A: Um ... I'm not really sure.

Q: Your greatest achievement?
A: Facing my fear and following my heart.

Q: Do you only write for YA?
A: Generally, although sometimes I write New Adult.

Q: Your greatest fear as a writer?
A: There a million of those. Probably having my books be misunderstood, but that's inevitable.

Q: Favourite author?
A: Anne Rice.

Q: Favourite book?
A: I have sooo many. Too many to name them all. The Witching Hour series by Anne Rice is up there. Harry Potter as well.

Q: Can you give us a hint for the last book?
A:TRUE, the last Fire Born book. I am so sad to let this series go. I've loved every minute of it. Hint? Have tissues ready.

Q: Your proudest moment?
A: Probably when I signed my first publishing contract.

Q:How hard is it succeed as a writer now-a-days?
A: Very. There are a lot more opportunities for writers now, though. Patience and perseverance are important.

Q: What do you think is the scope of publishing in the future?
A: I think everyone is trying to guess the answer to that. Doesn't look like anyone really knows.

Q: How to break into this field?
A: Write. Write some more. Follow your heart. Don't listen to the haters. Write some more. Do this because you love it and for no other reason.

Q: What does fame mean to you?
A: I think fame is a strange thing. All writers want their books to be read, liked, understood, but at the same time, most of us are introverts who want to write our stories and stay behind the scenes. I'm sure some writers aim for fame of some kind. I'm not one of them in the 'famous' sense. I write because I have stories to tell and I hope readers will love those stories as much as I do.

Q: Favourite quote?
A: “Occasionally, there arises a writing situation where you see an alternative to what you are doing, a mad, wild gamble of a way for handling something, which may leave you looking stupid, ridiculous or brilliant -you just don’t know which. You can play it safe there, too, and proceed along the route you’d mapped out for yourself. Or you can trust your personal demon who delivered that crazy idea in the first place. Trust your demon.”

SYNOPSIS

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves - and herself - while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable - and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian DIVERGENT series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

REVIEW

Insurgent is the sequel to Divergent by my favourite author Veronica Roth. Insurgent starts from where Divergent ended.
Insurgent was full of action, suspense and cliffhangers. I was engulfed in the book as soon as I started reading it. This book also ends with a cliffhanger. What the book lacked was the relationship between Tris and Four.
I am a great fan of Tris and Four couple. So, I was expecting a strong bond between them. The best scene was when Candor used the truth serum to spill out all the information from Tris and Four. My heart was beating madly, and I was all like... how can I say, shocked at every line of that part.
Only the 'Love' was required. I found everything in place except Tris and Four's relationship. The book was a mixture of fast and slow pace. Insurgent is 'unputdownable'.
Conclusively, I highly recommend Divergent and Insurgent. There was an amazing understanding between the characters. I am desperately waiting for buying Allegiant.

SYNOPSIS

Find Max.

That’s all Layla cares about. Not healing from the Fomore attack. Not finding answers to how she survived a fall that nearly killed her. Nothing will stop her. She will find him. She’ll even pair up with an overbearing Fallen Angel who’s hell bent on making everything harder than it needs to be if she has to.

Protect Layla.

For Max, nothing else matters. Not the bruises covering his body. Not the pain radiating from his broken bones. Not even his hands tied behind his back. He will find a way to save Layla, and the Fomore will pay if they’ve hurt her.

Every. Single. One of them.

In the second installment of The Fire Born trilogy, a new breed of villain looms—one Layla and Max will never suspect, and this killer has nothing to lose. Better yet, with Max and Layla’s deaths, victory is in the grip of the enemy.
Will Max and Layla find each other in time, or is it already too late for them both?

REVIEW

Again, Layla and Max are struggling to free themselves from the same thing - The Curse. Layla just wants to find Max and stay with him forever. Max can't come close to Layla as it's the only way to protect her. One must have to kill the other to end The Cycle, which made me remember the ending of The Hunger Games.
TORN was again filled with emotional scenes. I was addicted to this novel, and the there is a new addition, the scary Elethan.
McMann has written a speechless novel. I would love to give it 101/100. The book is filled with emotions. Your heart will ache during the emotional scenes between Layla and Max. I don't know how Laney got the idea of Fomore, The Light World, Fae, Merrows etc... You will fall in love with the whole plot. The author is totally amazing and I dont have words to describe her amazing writing style.
I request the author to please reunite Layla and Max. You can see the continuous risky struggles of Layla. Similarly, you can see how much Max wants to protect Layla with every fibre of his being. Layla just takes the potion at the end *sobs* and Max is faking in front of his father that he would kill Layla. *in tears*
I want the final book, TRUE, right now... like NOW...! The story went very slow, Thank God! The ending had me in tears.. My heart was crying. I wanted to kill Max's father. Why did Layla took the potion? If you want an 'unputdownable' read, buy this book!!

REVIEW

Kitty Hawk And The Curse Of The Yukon Gold is the first book in The Kitty Hawk Flying Detective Agency series by Iain Reading. The storyline was amazing! The writing style of the author is just amazing. This series has a website too, www.kittyhawkworld.com, where you can know more about this series! Amazing right?
Kitty Hawk is a very mature character despite of her young age. She is a very smart, intelligent and strong girl. Without any kind of exaggeration, to be honest, my expressions while reading were "OH MY GOD!", "You've gotta be kidding me!", "So sad!", because the book is filled with laughter, emotional, sad and angry scenes. This author writes goodbyes badly because every time, Kitty said goodbye to 'The Charlie Gang', you won't believe I was literally in tears.
I really wanted some kind of relationship in between Charlie and Kitty! Because despite the fact that he had kidnapped her, I loved them both... Kitty gave loads of hope to Charlie and his gang for getting the gold back from the crazy Jack. Not only this, she also showed her reckless side to Charlie with her smart brain and flying skills.
And the cliffhangers... the book is filled with those!! The part where Eddie came out to be Edward was the part where I was like "Seriously!". The book is filled with heart aching goodbyes... *sobs*
Iain has written an out of this world ending. Thank God the book didnt ended with a cliffhanger but guess what? The book has a prologue from the book 3 of this series, due to which I am yearning to read the 2nd book. The last pages was the part, where I felt that I am missing Charlie and his brothers more than Kitty... *sniffs*
So in short, this book is filled with laughter, tears, energy bars and brotherhood which is the 'Thing' I loved about this book. This book completely left me in awe! I really WANT the book 2!! Have you read Kitty Hawk And The Curse Of The Yukon Gold? What was your favourite part? Answer me in the comments!

Moon Bayou by J.R. Rain & Rod Kierkegaard,Jr.

Genre: Mystery

SYNOPSIS

Mother, wife, private investigator, vampire - Sam Moon's been around the block. Now, unlife brings her to New Orleans to test her mettle against a new kind of lurking evil...
From the author of the Vampire for Hire Series, J.R. Rain, comes a brand new Samantha Moon spin-off story co-written by bestselling author of The Dead Detective and The Department of Magic, Rod Kierkegaard Jr.

REVIEW

Moon Bayou is the story of Samantha  and her adventure in the life she's stuck. Samantha is a detective plus vampire. She usually lives on the blood of animals. This book is just another vampire story. Samantha has a family and a loving man in her life. But everything changes when she goes to Moon Bayou to save a lost girl. See, here the whole twist arrives which is a pretty terrifying twist. She is thrown back into time by some people during a ritual.
The book is like DIRTY RED! Yeah I love vampire books. Modern vampires and stuff. This book is pretty horrifying but not THAT much. It doesn't have ghosts stuff.
The story is very fast paced, and short. We rapidly learn how Samantha became a vampire and stuff related to her past. Then she goes in search for two lost girls. She was able to save one girl but she she couldn't save the other. While saving the other girl, a strange ritual was going on by the people who had captured the girl, and as she interrupted them between their ritual, they send her back in time. And the story starts getting interesting. The people of the past treat her like she's a queen. Samantha is a very sarcastic character.... Oh and how can I forget the so amazing lies she told the people of the past. Samantha is trying to adapt their life and she doesn't want her reality to get revealed. But it does get revealed.
But then again a murder has occurred and Samantha has to solve it. Samantha is also in the search of someone who can take her back to where she came from. She also meets some vampires whom she knew in her past life and see them so young here. The last pages of the book were not interesting. This book is not highly recommended. Most parts were confusing, but still Samantha was an amazing character. After getting betrayed she still hasnt lost her hope of going back. She is a very strong character, with fighting skills. She reminded me of Beckett from Castle. A sarcastic and strong and amazing and well that's it woman!
Overall, not an amazing book. You will loose interest after reading half the book. The pacing is fast and the ending was so unsatisfying  (It looked like the authors never completed the book)!

SYNOPSIS

Benjamin Grimm knows the theater is much like real life. In 1876 Philadelphia, people play their parts, hiding behind the illusion of their lives, and never revealing their secrets.
When he reunites with his childhood friend Eleanor Banneker, he is delighted. His delight turns to dismay when he discovers she has been under a spell for the past 7 years, being forced to live as a servant in her own home, and he realizes how sinister some secrets can be. She asks for his help, and he can’t refuse. Even if he doesn’t believe in ‘real’ magic, he can’t abandon her.
Ellie has spent the long years since her mother’s death under the watchful eye and unforgiving eye of her stepmother. Bewitched and hidden in plain sight, it seems no one can help Ellie escape. Not even her own father, who is under a spell of his own. When she sees Ben one evening, it seems he is immune to the magic that binds her, and her hope is rekindled along with her friendship.

But time is running short. If they do not find a way to break the spell before midnight on New Year’s Eve, then both Ellie and her father will be bound forever

REVIEW

Curse Of Ash And Iron is a stand-alone by Christine Norris. Christine Norris has written many fiction novels including The Library Of Athena series. This is the first time I am reading a book by this author, and I've never read anything like this ever before. This book has just been released and thanks to Curiosity Quills (amazing publisher) that they sent me this amazing book. Wow, this book was insane! A Curse Of Ash And Iron was an amazing read!
One complaint that I have from this book is that it was slow in the beginning, but I later realized the reason. The book didn't started with a sudden suspense untill after 50 pages. Even being a slow book at the beginning we still get to know loads about Ellie and Ben. The biggest suspense and the villian was *drum rolls* Ellie's stepmother, who has placed such an insane curse on Ellie that you would want to kill her stepmother. The Curse had simply made this book unputdownable!
My favorite character was Ben. Ben is a poor boy, who was separated from his childhood best friend, Ellie, when they were very little. When they grow old, he meets Ellie again and finds her changed! (Obviously!) Ellie later on explodes to Ben about the curse that her stepmother has placed on Ellie and her father. Ben and Ellie's relationship was very depressing, as Ellie couldn't choose between two guys. The love triangle was very engrossing and I was team Ben until the end. You will find the story a little bit related to Cinderella, with unputdownable super duper suspense.
Overall, this book was very engulfing and I was half sad half happy at the end. I wish the author writes a sequel to this novel in which Rebecca and Hamilton die. (LOL!) But I don't think that this book requires a sequel! This book has gotten amazing reviews, but I recommend it to historical fiction and mystery readers! I rate it 4.3. Release Day Blitz - Evanescent by Carlyle Labuschagne

First of all, a big Happy Release Day to Carlyle!! *throws confetti*

Author Bio

Carlyle is an South African award winning author, with a flair for mixing genres and adding loads of drama to every story she creates. For now she is happy to take over the world and convert non Sci-fi

believers. Her goal as an author is to touch people's lives, and help others love their differences and one another by delivering strong messages of faith, love and hope within every outrageous world she writes about.

"I love to swim, fight for the trees, and am a food lover who is driven by my passion for life. I dream that one day my stories will change the lives of
countless teenagers and have them obsess over the world literacy can offer them
instead of worrying about fitting in. Never sacrifice who you are, it’s in the
dark times that the light comes to life."

Carlyle used writing as a healing tool and that is why she started her very own writers support event - SAIR bookfestival.

 "To

be a helping hand for those who strive to become full times writers, editors,

bloggers, readers and cover artists - it’s a crazy world out there you don’t
have to go it alone!"

Series: A Broken Novel

Publisher: Fire Quill Publishing

Release Date: 19th May 2015

ISBN: 9780992244637

Synopsis

(Back blurb)

Her fall has just begun. Only his touch can save her from the shift that could
destroy it all. Within my blood runs a thing our kind calls the Shadowing
Disease. It shadows over, and bends everything to its will.
When the first
blood- shift came, it tore through flesh and blood, threatening to bend me,
break bone, shatter my mind and entrap my heart with its honeyed, seductive
poison. It came with vicious intent, moving my thoughts and altering me
forever. The shift has caused a rift within me. No one was safe when it
entrapped me in its claws of foul lust.
But I have the only antidote against
the evil that becomes me - his touch alone has the power to release the spurs
of sweet darkness that clung on for dear life. I knew what I had to do; the
desperation pulled my mind with the deep determination of a hungry predator. By
the time the revelation raised me from the dark dungeon of my bounds - it might
have been too late.

Excerpt

My makers would say
I was created for revenge. I say, I was born to prove them wrong. I defied the
Council and its Keepers.  Fought back
against the dark magic of our enemies, but I am afraid it had come at a cost.            Inflicted with the dark disease, I
was lost in every possible way; and they were wrong – death does not bring you
your true purpose. After death, I am more misplaced than ever, but only because
I am immune to guidance. I relive my darkest moments over and over again, just
to remind myself of who I am.
I am the destined one. The haltered. For me, there is no love and
no release, only destruction; but I am on a path to be free of its burden. I do love and I will have it, absorb it
and never, ever, let all its enchanting affections go. In order to be with
love, there is only one path to lead me there; through this war. But nothing
and no one knows what awaits on the other side, or what lies have been
afflicted upon us about the after. Remorse is an infection I no longer want. I
had made apocalyptic mistakes, and will probably keep on faltering forward. It
has become my only direction in a reality where there is none. To him, there is
no him, if there is no me. He is bound to me, and I hated it more than I will
ever confess. His cross to bear is me, and to be that – to be this – is a curse I must fight.
When the first true
blood-shift came, it tore through flesh and parted blood, threatening to bend
me, break bone, shatter my mind and entrap my heart to become its will. It
comes with
vicious intent, moving my thoughts and touching me with a cutting effect from
the inside. It has many ways of
bleeding out, and when it releases, there is nothing I can do to stop it. No
one is safe when it entraps me in its claws of foul lust.
Corrupt,
damnable, depraved, destructive, hideous, demonic; your kind would call it many
things. I have a weapon against the profane that becomes me – his touch alone
has the power to release the talons of a sweet darkness that clings on for dear
life. It has one trigger – my guilt. I can change it if only I can take the
leap, surrender myself utterly. I am ready with all of me, for all of him.
I know what I have
to do, the desperation of it pulls my mind with the unfathomable determination
of a ravenous predator. I let it sink in hard and true. I feel the swell of the
fight fill me with a bitter sweetness, and with a glorious soothing pain that
tears my mind from the disease which transforms me. My loss has become my fight
as I watch it all wither away. But, I will never stop fighting. I am my own
destiny; my destiny is to be with him. And the Truth-seekers of this prophecy
will not take it lightly.
Everything else
becomes Evanescent.
